Remote Telemedicine & Travel Pharmacy Partnerships
Personal Telemedicine Partnerships
Offer your participants exclusive partner rates on private doctor consultations and tailored travel pharmacy kits, empowering their medical independence while keeping your operational costs and overheads at zero.
As the trip organiser, you introduce your trip participants to TrailMed by offering an exclusive rate that lets them register, purchase travel pharmacy medications, and book telemedicine appointments if they become unwell during your trip due to illness or injury. UK participants receive direct courier delivery from our registered partner pharmacy. For non-UK nationals, you must agree on international courier logistics and import terms before confirming travel pharmacy supply.
Best For
Commercial tour operators, charity challenge organisers, and independent expedition leaders who want to offer gold-standard medical support to their clients without funding an embedded medic or paying for group medical packages.
The Setup
A zero-cost partnership where you provide your participants with an exclusive partner booking link. Participants register directly with TrailMed, book private consultations, and order their own prescription travel pharmacy kits.
Clinical Relationship
Direct Doctor-to-Patient. All medical screening and health declarations are strictly confidential between the individual and our UK doctors; we do not share medical files with you as the organiser.
In-Country Support
1-on-1 virtual consultations between unwell participants and our UK expedition doctors while away, with itemised receipts provided for personal travel insurance reimbursement.
Advantages
-
You add immense perceived value to your expedition package without paying a penny in setup costs, staff retainers, or kit overheads.
-
You do not collect sensitive health declarations, decide participants’ fitness to travel, or hold group medications. TrailMed's doctors handle all clinical duty of care.
-
Your participants receive high-level access to expedition doctors and prescription travel packs at discounted rates unavailable to them on the open market.
-
Participants can recoup reactive telemedicine consultation costs directly through standard travel insurance policies using our itemised medical receipts.
-
Because participants fund this service, uptake is optional unless you make it a mandatory condition of your booking terms.
-
This model does not include a 24/7 phone line for your tour leader. Your guides focus entirely on leadership and logistics, while unwell participants consult doctors directly.
-
Participants require mobile data, local SIMs, or satellite Wi-Fi to access virtual appointments while overseas.
-
For international participants living outside the UK, you must agree on courier timelines and medication import regulations well in advance of departure.
Considerations
From enquiry to delivery
How It Works
You want your clients to be as safe and well-prepared as possible, but budget constraints, trip style, or company structure mean you cannot take on group medical packages or health screening admin.
With a Personal Telemedicine Partnership, we provide your clients with direct access to specialist UK expedition doctors while completely separating clinical liability from your business:
Co-Branded Access & Exclusive Partner Rates
We set up a dedicated landing page or discount code for your departure. You simply add a link to your pre-trip kit list, client portal, or joining instructions.
1-on-1 Confidential Health Screening
Interested participants book directly with our team. They complete an online clinical screening and meet 1-on-1 with a UK expedition doctor via video call to discuss pre-existing medical conditions, destination risks, and personal medication plans.
Strict Medical Confidentiality
Because this is a direct private clinical service, medical declarations remain strictly between doctor and patient under Caldicott principles and CQC regulations. You do not have to store, manage, or take legal responsibility for your clients' personal health data.
Direct Pharmacy Dispatch
Following consultation, our doctors prescribe the appropriate baseline medications and environmental modules (such as altitude or traveller's diarrhoea packs). Our registered UK pharmacy partner dispenses and couriers the sealed kit straight to the participant’s home. (For overseas participants outside the UK, we coordinate courier feasibility and terms with you beforehand).
Step 1 | Simple Onboarding & Direct Client Booking
Step 2 | On Expedition, Medical Independence
Personal Medication on Hand
Each participating client carries their own tamper-evident, name-labelled prescription medications, ready to use if symptoms arise.
Direct Telemedicine Consultations
If a participant feels unwell during the trip, they book a direct telehealth appointment with a UK expedition doctor using their own phone or camp Wi-Fi.
Independent Management
The consultation occurs directly between the participant and our doctor. The doctor assesses the casualty, provides clear medical advice, and instructs them on how to take the medications from their personal pack.
Insurance Claimable
After every clinical consultation, we issue an itemised medical invoice so the participant can submit a claim directly through their personal travel insurance policy.
Step 3 | Post-Trip Care & Medical Continuity
GP Continuity
With the participant's explicit consent, our clinical team forwards full consultation notes and prescription records directly to their registered NHS GP, ensuring continuity of care once they return home.
Zero Post-Trip Admin for You
Because the clinical contract sits entirely between TrailMed and the individual traveller, your business carries zero documentation burden or liability tail.
Total peace of mind

Case Study: 40-Person Open Charity Challenge, Peru
-
1. The Challenge
A commercial charity trek bringing together 40 independent fundraisers from across the UK to complete the Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, led by local Peruvian guides and a UK charity representative.
Because participants were fundraising for various causes with varying personal budgets, the organiser could not add the cost of an embedded doctor or a group medical package to the trip registration fee.
However, because the route reaches 4,215m at Dead Woman's Pass, participants often asked how to get Diamox, altitude advice, and traveller’s diarrhoea treatment. The organiser wanted to support them without taking on medical liability or handling sensitive medical histories.
-
2. The TrailMed Solution
The organiser included an exclusive TrailMed partnership link in their pre-departure confirmation email and packing webinar, giving trekkers a 15% partner discount on pre-trip consultations and travel packs.
32 of the 40 participants registered with TrailMed. Each met 1-on-1 with an expedition doctor to review personal medical histories, discuss acclimatisation, and receive bespoke travel packs (containing standby acetazolamide and ciprofloxacin) couriered directly to their homes.
-
3. The Clinical Intervention
At a hotel stop prior to trail departure, one participant developed acute fever and gastrointestinal symptoms.
They logged into the TrailMed telemedicine portal from their room, completed a 20-minute video consultation with an on-call UK doctor, started an authorised course of medication from their pack, and received an itemised £79 invoice to submit to their travel insurer.
-
4. The Outcome
The trekker recovered in time to start the trail safely. The charity team handled zero medical paperwork, bore zero clinical liability, and saved thousands in trip overheads, while their trekkers felt exceptionally supported.
