I continue to work regularly on events as part of the TrailMed team; it is an opportunity to support participants achieve their distances. It isn’t always patching up feet and muscular aches and pains; I enjoy walking amongst the participants and striking up a conversation, offering them a cuppa and sometimes having a reassuring chat. We work closely with the rest stop teams and the trek masters. We can be the first point of contact when a participant is anxious about carrying on through the night, by liaising with the Trekmasters it often means we can help facilitate them continue with their challenge. It is always a privilege to support participants on their individual challenges and hear their stories about what motivated them to participate.
