The Tri Coach

Our Partnership

We are incredibly excited to announce our new partnership with The Tri Coach (TTC), our preferred provider for all triathlete coaching. This partnership is a natural and powerful fit, as both organisations share an athlete-first ethos, focusing on long-term health, resilience, and recovery in addition to performance strategies.

This collaboration is set to provide numerous benefits for athletes:

  • Advanced Performance Testing: TTC athletes will have streamlined access to advanced performance testing from TrailMed, including VO2 Max, Metabolic Exercise Testing, and Sweat Testing. These tools allow coaches to create more precise training programs, which help prevent overtraining, injury, and burnout.

  • Enhanced Nutrition: The partnership will help athletes with their race-day and training nutrition, a critical factor in endurance sports. Athletes will also have access to discounted Precision Fuel & Hydration products through TrailMed5.

  • Expert Support: The collaboration creates a comprehensive, athlete-centred ecosystem that enhances triathlete development. It provides athletes with an extra layer of confidence and safety, leading to faster recovery, innovative training, and better performance. Coaches and athletes can receive insights from TrailMed experts to guide safe and realistic goals, maximising performance while minimising risk.

  • In-person Engagement: Looking ahead, the partnership aims to explore expanded face-to-face engagements, such as pre-race meetups or UK training camps, to provide hands-on support.

The Tri Coach emphasises several crucial elements for triathletes to balance intense training with health and injury prevention, which TrailMed's services complement:

  • Training Load Management: Gradually increase volume and intensity while incorporating rest days and active recovery to avoid overtraining.

  • Proper Nutrition and Hydration: Fuel training with a balanced diet and stay well-hydrated before, during, and after workouts.

  • Injury Prevention: Include strength training for key muscles and maintain flexibility to reduce muscle tightness and imbalance.

Regular check-ins with a health provider, such as those at TrailMed, are a key to success for optimising performance and achieving big goals. The relationship between a coach and a health provider is a valuable tool, as they work together toward the same goal: the athlete's performance and ultimate success.
